Deep Breathing for Positivity

Inhale... Exhale... Inhale... Exhale...

I've been doing a lot of deep breathing today. Today started on a sour note. I woke up feeling bad and that feeling I still am battling even now. I don't want to say harsh words I may regret later on. I don't want to succumb to feeling rotten and bitchy. And so I resort to deep breathing (sometimes measured) to keep an even keel on my emotions. It kind of makes you feel a bit numb doing this but sooner or later my mind gets diverted onto other things so I'd forget why I was feeling bad at all. Deep breathing is my bridge to staying sane and positive. Ok, now back to...

Inhale... Exhale... Inhale... Exhale...

"I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances."

Activity Dispels Misery

I've been feeling down lately. I don't feel this down in the dumps when I was still juggling two jobs at the same time. That's when it hit me! I have too much idle time on my hands. So...what to do? Hmm...

I came across a blog post on growing tomatoes upside down. It was an interesting read. It sounded easy to do, too! That got me thinking... I could start a small garden! Tomatoes, bell peppers, chilli peppers, calamansi to name a few.

I looked around the room and it struck me that I had been negligent on some chores. The room needs some sweeping and dusting. The laundry basket is overflowing with dirty clothes. I could do the laundry this afternoon ^^ And while I do that, I could also give myself a manicure and pedicure. Or write up some articles for this blog. My ideas kept flowing!

The more I thought on the things I plan to do this afternoon, the more my mood is lifting up. Indeed, activity dispels misery!

Positive Thinking Quote for the Day

"Happiness is not a matter of good fortune or worldly possessions. It's a mental attitude. It comes from appreciating what we have, instead of being miserable about what we don't have. It's so simple—yet so hard for the human mind to comprehend."
